I'm stealing this post from my girlfriend Kelly, not only cause I thought it was funny reading hers but I totally agree also, in the sense that I also feel very childish at times! I do, at sometimes, feel that I'm also having some kind of an identity crisis. Now, I would assume that most of you who are reading this are about around the same age I am, early to mid twenties so perhaps you can identify! Well, before Collin came home, I joined up with a friend one night for Family Home Evening. Shes single so on campus here at BYUI, they assign FHE groups within the single student wards youre in and I decided to go one night. Alot of her "FHE sisters" noticed I had a ring on my finger and one girl asked if I was engaged. I replied, no Im married, my husband is on military leave and wanted to join you guys. Her next question "How old are you?" My answer "23 next month". Her response "wow, you're old!" I guess if you're 18 and its your first college semester, perhaps 23 is considered old but if so, I'm a bit childish. For example, me and Collin just got a new apartment in downtown Rexburg. It use to be a retirement home and now just a regular complex although there are still a fair amount of elderly people. Well, this place has what you call a buzzer at the entrance of the complex. If you have a friend come over you can "buzz" them in and/or you can talk through that little device (like on Seinfield). Well, the volume on the entrance is extremly loud. So I thought it would be funny, to make random funny noises (preferably animal noises) from our apartment through the buzzer so I can try and scare or confuze whoever is walking through the building at that time. How obnoxious am I? Anyway, here is a little list of why I think I am still like a teen and an adult at the same time...
Adult:
I am financially responsible (pay bills, budget, etc.)
I have been able to learn to be strong when my husband leaves for 6 months or deployment and take over his household duties as well as mine.
I am a homemaker. I am learning to cook more meals and enjoy recipe hunting online. I love making crafts and decorations for our house. I make a conscious effort to keep the home clean and organized and a nice place for Collin to come home to relax.
When I have extra money, I spend it on household decorations or projects instead of clothes shopping.
I'm not a very political person but have found I have more of an interest in it and listen to the news.
I think about what it would be like to have a baby and be a mother, and how I decorate the nursery. For the record though, we are not a baby anytime soon.
When I go to the grocery store, I compare prices and try to buy healthy foods for me and Collin.
Teen:
Still wear half of my shoes from highschool.
I secretly still want to learn how to be a hip-hop dancer. The hip-hop team from highschool totally inspired me.
I still like making sand castles, collecting seashells, and digging up hermet crabs and putting them into a bucket full of water at the beach.
I still "checkout" other girls and get a little bugged when I think they are prettier than me.
I still whine and complain, usually when I'm trying to get my way...when I want Collin to do something, say go to the grocery store with me. I try and be a good wife and tell him he doesnt have to go with me if he doesnt want to because I know he doesnt like grocery shopping, but when he agrees to stay home while I go shopping, I get upset and mad and get the kinda attitude of How-dare-you-dont-want-to-go-the -grocery -store -with -me -even -though- I -just -said- I -wouldnt- mind -if -you- stayed- home!!!
I occasionally wake up in the mornings and try to convince myself that I'm deathly ill and could not possibly go to work.
Well, the list could go on and on but Im gonna stop being childish and go to bed at a decent hour and stop pretending that I can pull an all-nighter like I did when I was in highschool!

I just wrote a huge comment and then it deleted. Bleh.
You are so NOT old!!! Holly my sis told me I was old the other day, I said, "Honey, when you're 22 we'll talk."
Having kids makes me feel more like a kid. I still feel like I'm 17! My body doesn't say so, but I do!
I love how you described the buzzer as the one on Seinfeld. I LOVE Seinfeld and I was totally thinking of it when you said that.
