Idaho troops deploying

One thing that I love about living in a small town is that most of the time, there is always some kind of community activity, gathering, etc for almost any kind of holiday, special date, or just for fun. For Sept.11th the community had a get together/farewell to the Idaho National Guard troops that are going to be deploying next week (fortunatly for me, Collin is no longer one of those deploying.) Collins unit 116th Calvary Brigade,  B-battery of the 148th field artillery will be deploying next week on Sept 21st to Mississippi for training and then shipping out to Iraq in November for a year. Some of our friends who are in the National Guard will be staying behind like Collin but we also some who will be leaving like our friends Rose and Clark and Collin's brother Preston.

Collin wants me to note that he is infact NOT going bald in the picture above and below is a pic of us with one of our best buddies Rose (Eric) and his adorable fiance Shelley!
I am so thankful for those who are serving our country around the world, including my husband! Collin was planning on going to Iraq with his buddies Rose and Clark and his brother Preston, but due to his two back surgeries he felt that it would be not be the best choice. I am glad to have him here with me though I know there is a good part of him wishing that he could serve with the rest of his unit. I know that everything happens for a reason and I like to believe that perhaps he is staying behind because he is needed more here or perhaps due to his bad back, he would'nt be safe out there...who knows. I am happy he will be home and even more grateful for his willingness to serve and all of our friends and family that will be deploying next week! Keep our unit in your prayers and that they will return home safe next year!
