Let's go on a date: May

The plan: I decided to do a "Phantom of the Opera" kinda date. It's one of Collin's favorite movie so I tried to play on that. Because we went on a cruise this month also, I didn't think that going to an actual opera was in the works....
The envelope: ... instead I included some money to go out to a fancy dinner, our Netflix choice, some "tickets" to a private screening of The Phantom and some masks just to make it fun.

The date: We decided to use our "date" on our actual anniversary date (May 30th) since we spent a week on a cruise to celebrate our anniversary plus an extra week spending time with family and friends in California. So I added a couple things to make it extra special. The day before I planned a couple small surprises like balloons and a special note for him to find that morning while I was at work. I got up extra early that morning before work to go out and get him his favorite smoothie from Jamba Juice and left it in the freezer for him to find. It also so happens that a traditional 4th year anniversary gift includes fruit so I thought a fruit smoothie would be appropriate.

At the end of the day, I got dressed up at work and waited for Collin to pick me up. He showed up with some flowers and we went out to a nice dinner before returning home. Instead of having dessert at the restaurant I came up with a scavenger hunt with candy bars for Collin to find around the apartment. I made a video of it but its way too corny for me to share without embarrassing myself, its kinda over the top cheesy but that's just kinda how we roll. Maybe a few years from now :)

Four flowers for our fourth year!

I made up clues regarding our marriage and attached them to the appropriate candy bar, hid them around the apartment and followed him around while he figured out the different clues. The candy bars ended up being our dessert (even though we finished only 2 of them, the rest are waiting for us in the fridge) while we enjoyed our movie together with some candles and blankets in the living room.
I really wasn't kidding when I said we are kinda cheesy...haha!
It was a great anniversary! Many more dates to come!
