Update (kinda long)

So just a little update on the lives of the Hansons...we are doing great! We have been given a few curve balls but doing quite well!

Collin is facing a possible deployment this September, alot of things are uncertain like where he's going, if he goes, etc. Now a lot of you might be shocked but we know that if Collin does go, it will be hard but a great opportunity for him and both of us to grow as individuals and together as a couple. Its for a good cause and I support him no matter what! When I tell people, theres alot who look at us with these sad puppy dog eyes or respond with "that's horrible!". I'll be honest, yeah it sucks but I love my husband, hes tough and I know he (and myself)can handle it. I love my husband and completly support him and so proud of him. I know that if we stay positive through this, we can recieve many blessings from it. So bring on the positivity!

I am planning on going back to school!!!! I am so extremly excited to finally go back, finish and graduate! It will either be this Fall in Septemeber (my preference) or for the winter semester, but I have to wait for the school to decide. I have enough to get my associates but I want to get my BA in Fitness & Health Sciences. I have about a year and a half left but hopefully once I get in, I can apply to the fast track program they have at BYU-Idaho so I can go year round and finish faster so we will see!

Collin will be getting back surgery hopefully soon for a disk protusion located near his tailbone. Sounds serious but its not too bad, he's still able to do every day stuff and go to school. They said it actually can be fixed from a cortazone shot but since hes in the military and possibly facing a deployment, they need to do surgery, allowing it to heal faster and get him back on his feet sooner. So we are anxious to get that taken care of so he can start feeling better! He has to sleep on the floor when it flares up and can't work out which drives him crazy so hopefully we can get this going!

We got a new cat! Actually we got a kitten and it didn't really work out so the shelter we got her from suggested a different, older cat for us. He's black and white, about 2 years old and super sweet! Our kitten was so timid and scared and if she managed to get under our bed, we wouldnt see her for the next 24-48 hours. But our new kitty loves to hang out with us on the couch and follow us everywhere. We named him Louie and even Collin has taken to him.

Besides those new updates... Collin is still in school pursuing a career in pharmecuticals. Right now he's getting his pre-reqs at BYU-Idaho and once he gets those, he will be transferring to pharmecy school. We are not sure where we want to do that yet but ISU in Pocatello is looking promisingly, not to say that we might start migrating south (closer to CA!) in the future.

I'm still job hunting and hoping with this semester ending soon and many students going home for the spring semester, there will be more job openings soon. There's alot of wonderful things about living in Rexburg but job opportunities come slim just due to a small town with an overwhelming numbers of students here. So if you see anything, let me know! In the meantime, I keep busy by working out, keeping our little abode clean and tidy, looking for jobs and of course, being a wife to my wonderful husband. I like to go to the craft store every so often and see what I can find to spruce up our place. My latest project was sewing some pillows which turned out pretty good. We have a library just right down the street from us so sometimes I'll walk down there and find a good read. During this bad economy time, we are so thankful for Collin being in the Guard which has been a huge blessing for us!

Collin, aside from going to class and doing what seems an endless amount of homework, hangs out with his National Guard buddies and likes to go shooting. He plays his Call of Duty and Halo games to relax and our weekly episodes of The Office every Thursday night. We usually have a "date night" either Friday or Saturday which is always something we look forward to. And then we have our little primary class that we teach on Sundays. We teach the 5-6 yr olds and they are so sweet! We do have a couple of Taz Mania Devils, but with bribery and candy, we make it work.

We love living here in Rexburg and I have found that it really is a great place to raise a family but California will always be in my heart. We plan in the future after Collin finishes his requirements at BYU-Idaho to hopefully move closer to my family in southern California. It may not be California right away but maybe something close like Arizona where its not a 12-14 hr drive away. No doubt it will be a good few years before that but its a start. Though I miss California, if my family were up here, I would be content living in Idaho for the rest of my life. It really is beautiful and quaint. The longer that I'm here, the more I love it...minus the cold, LONG winters. To say the least, we are very happy that it is now in the 40's and snow is not covering every inch of this town.

So thats what we have been up to. We love our apartment, our ward, having a school campus and a temple 5 minutes away from us. We have a small but great group of awesome friends, most of which our in the Guard giving Collin alot of guy friends to go do guy stuff with and alot of other military wives for me to hang out with. We hope everyone is doing well and happy!
