Family Day at Fort Jackson

I finally got to see Collin this past weekend! I flew over to South Carolina where Collin is stationed at Fort Jackson. We had two days together, one on-post and one off. The first day was family day which was awesome!It was the first time I got to see Collin! Before they released the soldiers, they put on a little show, it was so cool! While we were sitting on the bleachers waiting for them, all of the sudden these explosions went off and smoke was everywhere and all of the 1,400 soldiers came charging out of the forest! After we met up with each other, we got to walk around the base and check out everything. It was huge! The whole base is bigger then Rexburg (where we live), it has hotels, housing, a mall, grocery stores, an army store called the px where it sells everything army thing you could imagine. We weren't allowed to leave the base but we had a good time shopping around at the mall, walking through the forest where Collin did all his road marches and meeting alot of the soldiers in his bay. That night there was a dinner for the soldiers and their families which was nice. It was soooo nice to see Collin, I couldnt help but burst into tears when I got to hug him for the first time! Ah, it was a good day.
