We had a beautiful Christmas this year. We stayed here in Idaho and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day with his family. Christmas morning we woke up early and drove out to his mom's house and opened up gifts with everyone. Collin's sister who came down from Boise with her husband and kids made us a big breakfast with Belgian waffles before we all went to church. Afterwards Collin and I went home, put our pjs back on and opened up our own gifts and then went back over to his parent's house festivities. It was wonderful.
All three guys with their beanie hats!
Some really cute ornaments my step-mom Diane got for us.
Stocking fun!
Ok, see that basket right next to Collin? One of the gifts I got him was pretty neat, and I only say that because it wasn't my idea but just another one I stole of Pinterest.
This basket holds 12 envelopes. Each labeled with a month of the year. And each envelope contains a pre-planned, (mostly) pre-paid date just for us. Some of the dates are cheap and will be at home, some are planned for the local area, and some of the bigger more expensive ones will take us out of town. All 12 dates are different. Several, actually nearly all of the dates are things we have never done before.
The plan is to open the envelope together at the beginning of the month, look at the calendar and decide on a date. So right from the beginning of the month, we'll have a fun date on the calendar to look forward to.
I had him open the one for January so he had something to actually open. Our date? Go outside and make a snowman together! I included $1 bill to buy the carrot and some hot chocolate packets for afterwards to warm up. There you go. Something small, but February is a little more extravagant! P.S I made the envelope for January late at night... reason why it's spelled wrong, don't judge me ;)
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and have a wonderful new year!
