Twas the night before Christmas...

This year we spent Christmas here in Idaho with Collins family since we spent Thanksgiving with my family. This year I made a bunch of those "cookie in a jar" as gifts to send home. It was my first time making them and even though there was a lot, it was fun to make and find some cute Christmas fabric and some holiday tags that I printed off pinterest.

Every year, we hold a Kaline Christmas party in California. Even though I wasn't there, my cousin Carly took some pictures that I stole from her on face book. Here's a pic of her husband Steve, my Uncle Russ, and my dad. Look how gangsta they are! I have the coolest family!

On Christmas Eve, Collin and I woke and drove down to Idaho Falls to give away our "blessing bags" to the homeless we put together a few days beforehand (read previous post here)We added an orange and a MRE since there wasn't a lot of food items in there. It was a great experience! It turned out perfect since we were able to give away both of our bags and both reciprocates were very grateful.

As soon as we got back into town, we got together with some of Collins siblings and went shooting. It was really cold but a great Christmas Eve activity. Before we headed back home for a fabulous Christmas Eve feast, the guys found these mini propane tanks and thought it would be fun to blow them up... yeah, crazy. The first time the tank didnt blow up until Collin decided to go up and investigate. Fortunatly he wasn't hurt.... just a face full of ash. I had a video of it but for some reason it wouldnt upload.  I also joined in and hit my target 3x in a row!

I also finished folding a bunch of red peace cranes (a couple weeks ago) and added them to our tree. Its a bit different but they looked great  :)

Before we headed off to bed, Collin and I read the account of the birth of Jesus Christ and opended our traditional Hanson gift. Each year, we alternate picking something out for the both of us that the other can open on Christmas Eve. This year was my turn to pick something out for the both of us that Collin would open. I headed off to Deseret Bookstore and since we struggle with reading our scriptures every day, I thought this would be the perfect gift to set out on the coffee table so we won't foget :)
