So I wanted to post these sooner but since Collin has been back its been hard to pull myself away from him! Collin just came home from Basic Training in South Carolina at Fort Jackson. Right now hes on leave until Jan 2 when he goes back to finish. He wont finish until April next year but I do get to visit him once in Feburary and one more time when he graduates in April. Collin had four connecting flights last Thursday, but had been up since Tuesday earlier that week, so he was pretty darn tired when he got home! He made all of his flights but the last one was delayed like a hour and a half, waiting at the airport for him was torture. He flew into the tiny airport in Idaho Falls around 12:15 that night. I drove down with a couple friends and met up with a bunch of others that came to greet him. I was so nervous, in a good way though. I was so excited to see him and my heart was pounding like crazy! Then, there he was! Walking through the doors in his uniform and beret. It was awesome to see him again! As soon as he walked through the doors we gave each other a big smooch and a hug. I know this sounds way mushy but it was so nice just to kiss and hold him again! Ah, it was wonderful. He looked different but the same somehow. He lost 15 pounds and replaced all the fat (not like he had that much to lose) with a new pair of abs! Oh and his head is completely shaved! I shouldve uploaded a picture without his cap cuz his hair is gone, well really really short that is. I am so happy that I can have him home and share our first christmas together! Its funny to hear him talk because he has some different lingo now... uses military time, uses the phrase "BAM there it is" (I guess there is a drill sgt that says that alot) and a bunch of military terms that I just dont know yet, I think its cute though. We plan on doing some christmas shopping, relaxing and catching up on lost time! yowzers! So yes, we are doing great. Collin loves waking up in a nice big comfy bed, eating without a 5 minute time restraint and can actually enjoy what he eats, doesnt have to deal with crazy drill sgts and of course, spending time with wifey hilary! Here are some pics from the airport!Friday, December 19, 2008
