The Plan: For this month the plan was to go what I call real golfing. The kind that's a little bit more expensive than just a round of mini golf out on those long stretches of grass. Since we have never been "real golfing" I thought it would be fun to try it. Get a golf cart and play 9 holes and go out for lunch afterwards.
The envelope: I included the invite to golf, a pair of argyle socks for him (which he didn't wear, haha!), some golf tee's and lunch money
The date: We drove just down the street to the local course and explained to the counter guy that we've NEVER done this and wanted to try it out. It was a little embarrassing trying to explain the concept of "never"... As in we don't have a clue what were doing, we have little to none experience and we don't own a single club or golf ball. Fortunately he was nice enough to let us use the clubs for free. Once we got over that situation we hoped into the golf cart to the first hole. We realized shortly how golfing was out of our league. The first time we both tried hitting it, it went maybe 10 feet in the completely wrong direction. We tried to stick with it but after three holes we weren't having much fun anymore. Long story short and a few golf cart rides later, we turned in our stuff, got our money back and went home to see what our September date had in store! haha.
We did have fun and we laughed at how bad we were at golfing. I think next time we'll hit up the driving range and practice our swing before we come back...that or just stick with mini golf! I'm glad we did try it out and enjoyed riding around in the golf cart while the people who actually knew what they were doing were trying to figure out what we were doing!
After deciding that golf wasn't our thing, we went back and I had Collin open our September envelope and do that date instead knowing that I could just come up with something else for next month. Click here to find out what we did instead!
