Day 5: But now I'm gold, hooray hooray

So we have been married for three whole years! (May 30th) Yippee! This year we went to Salt Lake City, I know sounds boring, but we are a very easy to please kinda couple (and because we are saving our pennies for Hawaii next year!) Collin's plan was actually to go to the new 7 Peaks Water Park in Salt Lake because we huge water park fans but the weather turned for the worst and was pretty grey and rainy while we were there so we just enjoyed the city, the food and even met up with our good friends Natalie & David. I've known Natalie since we were pals way back when we first moved to Yorba Linda say when I was six or seven? So it was nice seeing the both of them. The food probably was the highlight of our trip. Again, coming from Rexburg when your choices are Applebee's, Wingers and Costa Vida, its nice to have some options. Collin took me out to Tucano's Brazilian Grill which was amazing and we went to the famous Red Iguana on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins with Natalie and David. We exchanged gifts, went to a little burger joint called Crown Burger...we went to this place right after we got engaged and then headed off to the zoo which was so much fun. We've never been to the zoo together so it was fun to hang out and enjoy it together. We did a lot of shopping around, visited temple square and just enjoyed the weekend. We are planning on going back hopefully when Collin returns because we want to check out the new water park place. The pictures I posted are not the best because some of them were taken from my iphone not Collins, and his camera is 10x better than mine.

Again, we stopped at Crown Burger as soon as we got to Salt Lake. We went here right after we got engaged 4 years ago which can be seen here....

Unlike me, Collin doesnt like sentimental gifts, "I'm a man, they just don't make sense to me" he says, so I got him something that he can use on a everyday basis. I didn't get a pic of mine... it's getting sized but I'll be sure to post one soon :)

but I just couldn't resist a corny gift....which he, I might add loved!
(inspired by our fav show The Office and created by my cousin and bloganista Megan)

We then headed off to the zoo... the sandcat was my favorite even though it was naping.

We did a little shopping where I got these monogram mugs at Anthropologie which will look lovely on the hutch I will revamp sometime in the next week or so

and this cute little number which I found at Urban Outfitters for $10 on the sale rack
(and yes, I'm still mastering the art of taking a picture of yourself since I dont have the switch around camera on my iphone...or a husband to take it for me)

We went to a small diner for breakfast before we headed back to Rexburg. I love that our anniversary will always fall on a long weekend and get an extra day to ourselves (this year is actually fell on Memorial Day)

This is us May 26th 2007 at his brothers wedding reception... little did we know we would be getting married ourselves 1 yr and 4 days later.

This is us now...a little older and maybe not as thin, but 10 fold happier than we thought we ever would be

Happy 3 yrs Mr. Hanson
(I couldn've have picked a better last name for myself)

On a side note: Im surving the days without Collin and keeping busy!
