Herb Garden!

Today really was such a good day for the both of us. I started my day teaching my cycling class and Collin got up early and went to the range to sight-in his gun. When we were both home and ready to go, we got some good jamba juice smoothies and headed out to Idaho Falls to the Home Depot to start our own little herb garden! I am so excited about this and I was even more excited to find that Collin was onboard and was just as eager as I was to start! I've always wanted to start a garden and I thought an herb garden would be a good beginner's way to start.  We thought some ingrediants for making home-made salsa would be a good choice so we picked out green onion, cilantro, oregano, and a hot pepper plant. We wanted to get some red potatoes but they didn't have any :(

I also picked up some nice little succulents which look adorable in these little mini mason jars.

At the last minute, I decided that we should get some flowers too! They're outside right now but as soon as they start blooming, we are going to bring them inside on put them on our windowsill.

Our little hot pepper plant. I'm surprised this one made it home. I spilled it twice, but we got it sitting safely inside now.

Remember this hutch I've been talking about? I got it at DI for $12 last month and been slowly working on making it dining room worthy. Ready for the end result...

TA DA!!! I painted it while Collin was gone and have been waiting for the new knobs to come in! I couldnt really sand it down because its all just particle board but I think it looks great! I decided to leave off the little door on the bottom to display more kitchen stuff underneath and maybe keep the door for another project later on.

I pulled out some kitchen stuff to kinda decorate it and put my new yellow monogrammed mugs out! I feel like its still kinda missing something...maybe more color or maybe it looks awesome the way it is? You decide!
I decided to go with some brass looking knobs instead of white (there were a lot of really cute ones!) just to make it a little different. Turns out they are the same design knobs as the one on our pull out closet! They have a back plate to them to make them look bigger which I thought was really cool. I can paint them if I want but Im gonna let it sit this way for awhile. It was fun putting it all together but I'm glad its finally done and now it can just sit there and add some color to our place!

Aside from the hutch though... if you have any gardening tips, let me know!!!
