Day 8

Collin has been gone one week and I miss him horribly (I know I really have no room to complain compared to those whose husbands in Collins unit deployed but still!) I am still working on my lonely housewife list and so far I've reorganized our pantry and almost done organizing and going through our guest room...I'll post pics later. I feel like I am doing a good job keeping myself busy during the day with work, training for this half marathon (2 more days!), my indoor cycling class I'm teaching, and working on that list which is slowly growing longer somehow. Seriously, I cannot pull myself away from D.I. here in town! Since Ive been sorting through a bunch of our old stuff, I take it to DI and think what if  there is that perfect project waiting, calling, for me inside so I can keep myself busy? Like this $5 old clock? which I plan on painting and putting on all the hardware and inner workings together. So next time I go, you should come with and I can guarantee you'll find something cool.

Night time is a completely different story, I dread it. Its dark, quiet, and just lonely. I hate crawling into a bed all by myself. Some nights are better than others but I usually turn on the small stove light in our kitchen, turn on our floor fan in our room, and put a season of Seinfeld on repeat until I fall asleep.

I've gone out with a few of my girlfriends here and there which has been a big help! One of my best roomies from the dorm days Hannah moved back to Rexburg with her husband about a month or so ago and I am so glad they are back! They had me over for dinner and games last Sunday and the next day, me and her went out to dinner and saw the new Jane Eyre movie in the cheap theater which was very needed. Collin would for sure be rolling his eyes throughout the entire movie but I loved it! Mia Wasikowska played Jane, and even though this was the first adaption I've seen, I think she was perfect. I'm more familiar with Jane Austen's novels so I didn't know much about the story of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte... a lot more dark and kinda sad but still so good. I highly recommend seeing it if its playing in your area.

I still haven't touched the hutch I bought. I think I finally decided on a color (maybe) but decided that I won't start it until after my half marathon I'm doing this Saturday. I feel a little bit on edge I think just because it's my first half marathon but I'm really excited for it. I think it will be easier to do some of these things I have planned once the race is over so it won't constantly be on my mind.

So that's what I've been doing so far with my time away from Collin. I miss him a lot but it is nice to have some extra time to get some things done around the house that I would otherwise neglect. Here's another DI find that I finished up, just to show you that I haven't been lazing around :)

It must've been a very old frame because in order to put a picture in, you have to whip out your handy dandy screw driver and unscrew the back.
